We have a unit that is about to be rented. For a while I was thinking of using it as an airbnb unit. So, I didn't want to pay for the kitchen items and I love craigslist so I went on it. I was really scouring the free items and I got some big scores: a microwave, toaster over, two sets of pots and pans, about 50 fork/spoons/knives. I need some serving utensils and drinking glasses but I can get those. It was impractical for me to get furniture since I work and don't have a van. Also, I thought it would be best to get those new from Ikea. Ikea also allows me to get every piece of furniture at once and delivered. I will still look for items that can be useful that are free or very cheap but I was going crazy a few weeks ago. I likely shaved a few hundred bucks off those costs. The question is should I have done that in the first place as opposed to going to Ikea at first and be done with it.
